I think for most who didn’t grow up playing the classics, watching the classics you just can’t appreciate them and you can’t see how good it is to see classics get a visually better upgrade. Bond in 4K looks great btw lol. Noted very few bugs owing to the time I could spend. Car doors opening through your character, getting sunk knees down in the sidewalk are frequent ones. I wouldn't assume someone who enjoyed Skyrim to also enjoy Morrowind because the controls and systems are completely different, and the while franchise has gone in a totally different direction over the decades, the older titles have a lot of interesting mechanics the recent titles don't have anymore because they're more casual now. I think the same thing applies here, it's just not for everyone.

Scapetti Yes, of course, the buildings popping-in in plain sight because they removed the distance fog are just fine. So is driving at full tilt, hitting empty air and crashing only for a car to spawn there after you've already hit empty air. Sounds just fine to me and not like shoddy coding at all. Now that is not to say that the PS2 version was not fun and that the remasters would not also be fun if they ran at least as well as the PS2 version. But that is not what we are told we are buying and so any criticisms of how it falls short of what we were promised remain valid. Would it be worth a 4/10 if it were on par with the PS2 version (which the review contends that it is not anyway)? That I don't know. Maybe more a 6-7/10 on account of the broken promises but I'm not sure. Three iconic cities, three epic stories. Play the genre-defining classics of the original Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas updated for a new generation, now with across-the-board enhancements including brilliant new lighting and environmental upgrades, high-resolution textures, increased draw distances, Grand Theft Auto V-style controls and targeting, and much more, bringing these beloved worlds to life with all new levels of detail. Now, the key thing here is that Tez2 states that the reception to the GTA Trilogy might have been a factor in the decision... Might. Despite the poor reception, the compilation managed to ship an extraordinary number of copies, proving to be a commercial success if not necessarily a critical one. So this reasoning is likely just speculation at this stage. Also I’d love a follow up like a month after the physical versions drop. I wanna know what one sells the best in the long run across the consoles since they all came out the same day.and my PC is unable to run it, even with the recent patches (The PC port is ). It is perfect to see GTA IV on the Switch, especially with portability. There’s so many old games which had bugs and glitches and I actually like them lol. They aren’t game breaking either. You can still enjoy the game with them. I hate to say it but I was born in a generation where people liked games for being games and not their specs. Do you think Red Dead Redemption or GTV IV will ever see the light of day on Switch? Let us know in the comments below. There are so many amazing games out there and I just feel the cancel culture of the world is spilling over into gaming now based on flaws on the surface without digging in. Seriously you are all spoiled. My expectations were how the videos looks basically. It looks like gta on a switch… not gta on PS5.

The poor reception of the Trilogy DE might be a reason behind that decision. #GTAIV #RDR1— Tez2 (@TezFunz2) July 4, 2022 Well, as of right now, the trilogy has reached version 1.07 through a series of patches and updates, and sitting down to spend some time with all three the results so far are fairly reasonable. And for those interested in the half-assed "physical" release, you're looking at about 12.1GB in "updates". 1GB for GTAIII, 5GB for Vice City (which is unplayable without), and 6.1GB for San Andreas. The latter is particularly ironic, because the "update" alone is bigger than the entirety of Vice City (how?). The GTA Trilogy will release later this year. We'll update you when we have a more exact release date! Again, it looks reasonable sharp on my TV (and in every YouTube review so far), definitely not "well below 720p".Can't you run GTA IV on PC? That's strange, every modern PC should be able to run it at least at 720p low settings! Yes, we're talking about one of the worst PC ports ever made, but it's still a 10-years-old game. I've just upgraded my old GTX 970 to a new RTX 2060 and I'm finally able to run GTA IV in 1440p at max settings (including the draw distance) at a constant 60FPS. Surely you don't have the power of a RTX 2060, but even with a modern integrated graphics card you should obtain some decent results. The second major issue that we had at launch involved an awful draw distance combined with vehicles that would materialise out of nowhere, making driving feel like a real chore. Add some serious scenery pop-in to this mix and you had a visual mess to contend with.

Wow lol. I seriously can’t wait to play it now. Worst review I’ve ever read. I think everyone’s expectations were way to high. Games today are beautiful…. Grand theft auto looks exactly like it should from the videos I have seen (and looks improved). I have also made an image of what Bowling with Roman could look like. This minigame could make use of a single Joycon instead of both, which is used by normal gameplay. (The + button is the pause menu button, it should be the - button) I miss the fun physics and the hustle and bustle of Liberty City. I couldn't play it anymore as I sold off my PS3 and And, yeah, maybe don't release it in any "official" capacity. And definitely don't ask any money for it. Again, this is all stuff that should never have been a problem in the first place but, if we're to let bygones be bygones, combining these small wins with the frame rate and pacing improvements you've got an experience that is much improved over the dog's dinner we first sat down to. These improvements apply to all three games, although in terms of slight stutters and blurry effects, San Andreas does still chug here and there.

One thing about this fiasco of a release is I learned that even if it came out 100% as intended, it's just not the versions of these classics I'm looking for. This should have either been unadulterated ports of the most up to date versions of the games fans have played for the last twenty years, or from-the-ground-up remakes that meet today's standards for graphics, writing and gameplay. Even if the "definitive editions" weren't completely broken, they are neither accurate enough to satisfy my sense of nostalgia, nor improved enough to be enjoyable in their own right.

This is all to celebrate the 20th anniversary of GTA 3, and other events will also be happening as part of the party: GTA Online will have special clothing, liveries, and surprises to discover, as well as "unusual activity" in San Andreas. Ah, so what do we pin the numerous spelling mistakes on? Spelling mistakes in new textures that were based on old ones that had blurry or hard to read parts exactly where the mistakes are? The new textures that look very much like upscales with newly generated text via text recognition? That give us such golden sights as 'meat' becoming 'heat', 'air' becoming 'ar', 'accessories' becoming 'aggessories'? Because if it's not due to upscaling errors then these new textures were made by people who either can't read or know exactly zero English. Speeding is difficult because vehicles in traffic go from 0 opacity to 100 in a second, affecting both gameplay and immersion.Yomerodes thank goodness all my remnant traces of "Nintendo faithful" status likely went out the window the moment I became a simultaneous owner of TWO Vitas.😄 I might get it for PS5 too for 4K HDR and hopefully supports HD Triggers HD shoulder buttons. But it would need to offer more than Switch. VR mode would be acceptable. Driving through the streets in all three games is a nightmarish and sluggish experience as the framerate fluctuates wildly, dropping into the low twenties. GTA: San Andreas seems to have the best performance of the bunch, but it still can’t hold its target framerate for very long. Once again, as of patch 1.06, most of these issues have been improved, if not fixed entirely. The draw distance is better, the pop-in is nowhere near as bad, and the materialising cars, although still very much present, at least have the decency to appear out of nowhere slightly further down the road. This isn't entirely new news — we saw a leak earlier this year that seemed to imply that we'd be seeing a remastered trilogy on Switch — but still, it's nice to have it confirmed.
